Maggie We are a secular society and religion is for most Scots a complete non issue but there are plenty of believers. In comparison to Americans however religious beliefs are pretty liberal. We don't have many fundamentalists.

Actually, it really isn't - most forms of all kinds mention one's religion, don't they? Of course, I don't think many of us go about talking about our religions very often, which is probably what you mean. I have no idea what religion any of my neighbours are.

Well, many Americans seem to actively BOAST that they are Christians. That is totally different to the Scots. We believe that religion is a private matter and most do not choose to discuss or comment regarding religion.
