Frankly, in my experience, more Scots went to church 10 years ago than now.

You seem to be trying to make your view of USA mega churches have some reflection here in Europe. It ain't so!

Polwarth, I don't understand what you're saying, why... or why I am meriting your attention. I'm not trying to do anything to you or Europe - you seem to not want me on this Forum, but I can't imagine why. I don't think I know you at all, do I?

I certainly don't think I know you - a Susan Boyle/religious person would certainly not be on my personal radar!

You 'merit' my attention by your attitude on here towards us native Scots! You think WE must be horrible people just because we do not love the voice of Ms Boyle - your aggressive posts about our attitude was remarkable in a newbie. But maybe you are unaware of how your posts 'read' this side of the Atlantic?

I think you'll find it's YOUR attitude which is hostile - as it is not just MY view of your posts; please note that other Scots on this site make the same value judgement.

As for not wanting you on this site - It matters not a jot to me whether you're here or not. However, it is noticeable that you seem only to have views on religion and Ms Boyle. Neither topic of great moment in Scotland at the present time.

Polwarth, thank you for being candid. I did not realize that I was being aggressive and if I've been or am, I apologize for that. Although I am not exactly a shrinking violet either. However, I do not really know how I have offended anyone.

But I certainly don't have a bad attitude toward Scotland. Indeed, quite the opposite. I love it and look forward to visiting there one day. I have relatives in England, Wales, and Scotland, and friends who live in south Scotland. I did get to finally visit in England a couple years ago and it was so wonderful, got to travel all over England - I had studies maps and history for years, so felt right at home there.

As for views, I'm sure I have a 'view' on all kinds of things as most people do. I am still very much exploring about here, reading mostly. I certainly hope everyone here does not feel the way you do about me or about newcomers here.

I've explained, in fine details how you have offended us! Please re-read my (and others') comments on your statements!

It's only YOU, not 'newcomers' in general and as I've previously stated, it's not just ME that feels your attitude here needs adjustment, others, inclduing the very nice and easy-going Celyn also posted negatively to comments you made...... WOW - talk about putting in the knife! See? it really IS 'all about you'
