Shrines

Now I am not just talking about Christian shrines such as Lourdes or Knock. But all shrines that have supposed mystical healing qualities. Are the people of this forum off the opnion that they work. And are such things as Holy wells really a viable place for healing both in a mental or physical sence?

I suspect it's all down to belief, which is a powerful force. Nothing to do with "divine intervention"... There were wells and similar places regarded as holy long before the christian god was invented by man. Many still survive in Scotland today, if you know where to look. Many others were "christianised" by being given a saint's name, so that said saint could bask in a reflected glory they did nothing to earn...

There is no place on earth that can save a person! There are nice areas with a lot of history associated with them and if you find that interesting, fine, but if you are looking for salvation, it won't work! I don't care what some Christian orders believe.

There was no mention of any fictional "salvation", merely of physical healing.
