I myself am devoutly atheist,
I have never been baptised or christened and i have only been to church once for a wedding and i could not bear singing hyms not that i found them offensive,i just couldnt handle partaking in something that i have no interest or belief in it sounds silly but it was hard for me. in fact i didnt even sing i think i was looking at the prayer book or whatever it was and i remember feeling a little overheated and dizzy. |

I was christened and if I go to church I don't mind singing hymns,in fact some of them are quite rousing and spiritually uplifting and that is all that religion should be about-experience. I don't have any interest in the dogma,I don't believe that Jesus was a divine saviour and I don't believe in a personal God but I do believe in the moral precepts and spiritual message that Christianity embodies so for that reason I am neutral towards it rather than actively opposed to it.

I think morals begins at home, I also believe that morals are something that you develope with age, it co exists with the character and experiances of a person.
personally I think christian morals oppress other peoples believes and freedom to choose their paths in life. I am forever reading how christianity tries to censor, oppress and interfere with peoples ideals. though that is my view on the church not on people who follow christianity |
