Just to clear some things up a bit: 1. If we believe in God and Jesus, we need to wait, and wait, and wait, and then he comes down and kills a lot of people for us and then we all go to heaven where presumably we will wait, and wait, and wait forever. 2. If we believe in Odin and Thor, we need to die in valour and then drink, and drink, and drink, and then drink some more, and then we all get to go and fight this one last great bloody battle, which we lose. 3. Conan was not a viking. Conan was a Cimmerian. As a young boy he trained himself to go for as many as 30 days without food. Sometimes less. This is how he grew to be 300 pounds of lean body mass. 4. Nooka is really hot. I think you already knew that, but I had to say it anyway. Hope that clears things up. |

I am sorry Mr James but i dont buy anything wholesale before i examine it first.
And if you examine the bible objectively, you'd realise that there are a LOT of inconsistencies. Deuteronomy was not written by moses, it was 'uncovered' by the high priest of Israel during the reign of King Josiah. There are textual styles in the bible ( and they are not chronological either, indicating that various texts have been TAMPERED with, not just added to) - the 'El' style, the 'P' style and the 'J' style. You'd realise that the bible has been backdated and updated serveral times ( ie, backdating a 'prophecy' after the event has already occured) and cooks up some rather stupid notions of human beings living for an extraordinarily long ages( apparently far older and comprehensive cultures like Egypt, India, China, Mesopotamia etc. make no mention of 800 year old men but only the Abrahamic faith stuff does) and borrows liberally from other more ancient sources to cook up a story with slightly different flavourings. If you did some research, you'd realise that half of the things attributed to Jesus as 'son of God' is borrowed from Mithraism, the prevalent cult-like religion amongst roman and persian armies during Jesus's time- the story of 'virgin birth' , ' blood is wine and flesh is bread' and 'resurrection' is stolen from Mithraism. Simple fact is, while some of Jesus's teachings are very wise, he said nothing that Buddha or various other ancient wise men didnt already say (with a bit of Jewish coloring). As such, Jesus can do nothing for me, for he never existed in the way attributed to him and is just a figment of men's immagination to fill the 'hero worship' void. Jesus is nothing more than a Jewish version of Mithra and Buddha combined together, his teachings amalgamated with the legend of Mithra and Buddha to give him his 'God-like' veneer. |
