Blaming a group for bigotry is the weapon of the bigot so I take Wullie's point. However, Im of the impression that there has been statistaclly more anti Catholic bigotry in the last century than anti Protestant. Historically of course, this has been different. However, I was thinking of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries rather than the 16th and 17th. Furthermore, it is the case that Presbytarians (as often as not) sided with Catholics for Irish nationalism at one time, and the opposite may also have been the case.

Well guys, you get the Orange Order, I'm sure you're familiar with the Orange Walk, and also the Black Order and the Black Walk, It's a bit mair respectable and operates a "strictly nae scruff" policy, I don't remember seeing women in it, the banners are black, magic signs much in evidence. But use the same bands as the Orange. I always thought the best bands were from over the water, where indeed, the Protestants & Catholics combined in the great rebellion against the British Crown, which operated a divide & conquer policy, ever since.
