I find that most religions don't take much of a stand when it comes to living in more environmently friendly ways. If anything it seems they haven't kept up with the times and are still encouraging us to do things which are rather unsustainable, if nothing else. I think if we keep raising salmon and chickens the way we do, it is inevitable that we will end up living like them, which if anything seems to be the role of our religions that we would have it so. The fact that it's all going to end some day seems beside the point, I think. The sun seems to still have a lot of life left in it. We might as well make a proper go of it.

It should have read:

Go forth and multiply - but stop at about a billion or so, and go easy on those pine trees and buffalos.

Thank you.

This has to be one of the most rational and erudite postings I've ever seen in this particular category.

I noticed that all the usual suspects are avoiding it like the plague too. Probably because they can't refer to 2,000 year old scribblings about it.

More like this, please.
