i do not think for one minute that mel gibson was in spired by god when he made this movie .....what i do see that inspired him was to make a crap load of cash by being outrageous and being a total full time dedicated button pusher ......he declares god guided him to make this movie .....but any true REAL life loving human being ( this excludes people live in the fantasy world ) knows that all hollwywood actors are totally welll actors ......i mean can you take thses pseudo phonies and their real lives for real ....the passion like all movies is a movie.....and who gave him the authority to be well the new light shining in a dark corner .....well if this movie drives you to a new point in life where you are already more guilty for your sins than you were before ....then you will be in the same catagory as the deer caught in the headlight of the big old pick -up truck.................................................the meek shall lead the weak and the strongest will always prevail .............................

When and where has he said anything patently offensive? When and where has he deliberately tried to stir up controversy?

What's that supposed to mean? It's very imprudent to make blanket statements about any socio-economic group, be it actors, lawyers, priests, etc. There is usually very little truth in stereotypes, yet here you are assuming that Mel Gibson is insincere simply because he is an actor. You can't make judgments like that.

It used to be fairly common for artists to thank God for inspiring them. Mel is simply following in their tradition.

dera fear nam this is only my perception of what i think ....you are saying what you feel ...that is okay i merely am saying that greed and money lots of it is the motivation behind most people in this life ...money is the motive .......i am entitled to what i think and i think mel gibson is a phoney in they way he timed this movie and his motives behind the whole deal ....but that is only what i think ...i am not in hollywood nor would i want to be nor do i want fame and all the stuff that encompasses it i am not starving for attention and do not need to be recognised and am very happy with my existance ....mel gibson has six kids to feed so i think he will be okay for food now as the movie has made over 300 million bucks .........

[i]Drwineglass You obviously have a lot of anger for Mel Gibson.. He totally didn't need this movie to make more money.. to feed his children. He has enough money, and I disagree with you.. He is a very religious man.. as was his father.. and regarless to what his reasons were behind making this movie.. I could bet on it that it was not about money.

Also, let me remind you that this is the Religion section.. so please do not let this get off of a religious topic, as I have just replied to you in the Literature Section about the same type of topics you seem to have started there about Mel Gibson..
