I wouldn't pay much attention to sensationalist nonsense printed in a low-end rag like the Daily Mirror.

The "rare ab blood type" must be very rare indeed considering it's been shown to be paint.

As I said earlier the controversy over the carbon dating is a red herring.

The solution to the controversy would be to redo the tests, which hasn't been allowed - why? What are they afraid of?

Take a look at the picture on the Mirror site.

The face is a two dimensional painting and not an impression from a cloth that's been wrapped round a head.

You can prove this to yourself quite easily..

cover your face with ink and wrap a towel round your head.

Unwrap it and look at the image on the towel.

It's an "opened out" image of a face which you would expect from a wrapped-round impression.

Not like the shroud.

Someone also pointed out that Jesus would have looked more like Yasser Arafat than the popular image of a European type portrayed so commonly in 14th century paintings, and upon which this image appears to be modelled.

So unsubstantiated claims of errors in carbon dating prove absolutely sod all.

All other evidence still points to a 14th century fake.
