Sins and Forgiveness from an Islamic Prospective

Hello all,

1- From an Islamic prospective, humans will be held accountable for all the deeds they’ve done during their lives in the judgment day. And regardless of one’s race and sex, he/she would be treated accordingly:

O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).(Al-Hujraat: 13)

and

“Every man's fate We have fastened on his own neck: On the Day of Judgment We shall bring out for him a scroll, which he will see spread open.” (AL-Isra: 13)

It will be said to him: "Read thine (own) record: Sufficient is thy soul this day to make out an account against thee."(14)


2- It happened that some Muslims and Jews in the prophet’s (PBUH) era have bragged about who’s going to be forgiven and who’s right, then Allah revealed these verses to the prophet:

From Surat An-Nisa:

Not your desires, nor those of the People of the Book (can prevail): whoever works evil, will be requited accordingly. Nor will he find, besides Allah, any protector or helper.(123)

If any do deeds of righteousness,- be they male or female - and have faith, they will enter Heaven, and not the least injustice will be done to them.(124)

Who can be better in religion than one who submits his whole self to Allah, does good, and follows the way of Abraham the true in Faith? For Allah did take Abraham for a friend.(125)


3- From these verses, it shows that all deeds (even if some evil ones were forgiven) will be shown to each of us:

Then shall anyone who has done an atom's weight of good, see it! (Al-Zalzala: 7)

And anyone who has done an atom's weight of evil, shall see it.(8)


4- However, there are so many forgiving and sin-filtering stations, because he who created us with those evil-doing tendencies wouldn’t leave us without his mercy:

“And perform prayers, at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night [i.e. the five compulsory Salaah (prayers)]. Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds (i.e. small sins)” (Hud: 114)

and

Al-Bukhari and Muslim quote the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as saying: “If a person commits a sin, then says, ‘O Lord, I have committed a sin so forgive me,’ He says, ‘My slave knows that he has a Lord Who may forgive sins or punish for it; I have forgiven My slave…’”

5- However, major sins could easily be avoided since it takes some determination and time before doing them.

Major sins in Islam:

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Avoid the seven sins that doom one to Hell.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, what are they?” He said: “Associating others with Allah (shirk), witchcraft, killing a soul whom Allah has forbidden us to kill, except when it is lawful, consuming riba, consuming the orphan’s wealth, running away from the battlefield, and slandering chaste believing women who never even think of anything touching their chastity.” (Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim)

In another hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings of be upon him) is reported to have stated that a woman is doomed to enter Hell because of a cat “which she neither fed nor let it eat from the vermin of the earth.”




Can we start a fruitful and a respectful discussion on this issue? Tell me what you think and give me some objective feedback if someone is interested….but please, without referring to any politics or using any kind of sarcastic comments….

You are NOT going to be allowed to use any of your other numerous user names here to come into this thread and, as your alter ego, post to yourself in direct contravention to the position held by you as "Kaledx76."

Find your jollies elsewhere. As I said, you are NOT going to get them at the expense of these good members.
