Cool

Hello all,

God sent his messengers to people so as to guide them, and gave the former proofs for their credability as well.

So he defied people with the fields they were specialized at:

1- Egyptians were good magicians, that's why he gave Moses -peace be upon him- that power with his stick.

2- The people of Israel were excellent physicians, that's why Allah gave Jesus Christ -peace be upon him- that power to heal and resurrect the dead.

3- Arabs were excellent at linguistics and poems full of wisdom were improvised and uttered at the spot. That's why Qur'an came to defy them with what they were really good at. The pagans said: it was plain magic; and Mohammed -peace and blessings be upon him- wasn't known as a poet before God sent his revelation to him. However, he was well-known to be and titled during his youth: the honest, trustworthy...

So for those who wouldn't appreciate the linguistic side of the Quran bcoz of not knowing Arabic, Allah sent Qur'an for the whole humanity and not only Arab speaking nations.

Check this website to learn more about the miracles of Quran:

http://www.miraclesofthequran.com/

I hope you take the time to browse through it , and enjoy it....

Really amazing!!

The alleged miracles are less than impressive. When Allah makes the sun dance, I'll start worshiping him.

Well Fear-x-x,

Worship Allah or not, it's up to you...And people like you have overused the word "alleged", next year's dictionary edition would define allege: 3. anything good related to Islam....

However, by the time God makes the sun dance (or turn it into a Black hole sun as Soundgarden's Chris Cornell suggests), it would be too late to change your rusty mind...

I think you are behaving just like the people who killed Galilio (weren't they torrorist Muslims, I wonder??...)when he said that the earth orbits the sun..or when the Jews asked Moses -peace be upon him- to show them God's face....

Check out "appointed time" in the Qur'an:

Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that you see, and He is firm in power and He made the sun and the moon subservient (to you); each one pursues its course to an appointed time; He regulates the affair, making clear the signs that you may be certain of meeting your Lord.(AR-raad, 2)

when the pagans of Mecca asked the prophet to move Mecca's mountains, Allah replied:

"If there were a Qur'an with which mountains were moved, or the earth were cloven asunder, or the dead were made to speak, (this would be the one!) But, truly, the command is with Allah in all things! Do not the Believers know, that, had Allah (so) willed, He could have guided all mankind (to the right)? But the Unbelievers,- never will disaster cease to seize them for their (ill) deeds, or to settle close to their homes, until the promise of Allah come to pass, for, verily, Allah will not fail in His promise." (Ar-Rad, 31)

I have not overused the word alleged at all. The miracles of the Qur'an which your website describes are far from convincing, and they furnish no positive evidence for the inspiration of your holy book. Take this one for example:

Quote:
Miracles of the Qur'an
The origin of the universe is described in the Qur'an in the following verse:

"He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth." (The Qur'an, 6:101)

This information given in the Qur'an is in full agreement with the findings of contemporary science. The conclusion that astrophysics has reached today is that the entire universe, together with the dimensions of matter and time, came into existence as a result of a great explosion that occurred in no time. This event, known as "The Big Bang" proved that the universe was created from nothingness as the result of the explosion of a single point. Modern scientific circles are in agreement that the Big Bang is the only rational and provable explanation of the beginning of the universe and of how the universe came into being.
This is really a stretch. Surah 6:101 says nothing about a big bang, a singularity, or anything specific to modern cosmology. It just says that Allah created the universe. Nearly every culture in human history has a creation myth which states that their God created the world.

Another example:
Quote:
Miracles of the Qur'an
While referring to the Sun and the Moon in the Qur'an, it is emphasized that each moves in a definite orbit.
"It is He Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. They swim along, each in an orbit. " (The Qur'an, 21:33)

It is mentioned in another verse, too, that the Sun is not static but moves in a definite orbit:

"And the sun runs to its resting place. That is the decree of the Almighty, the All-Knowing. " (The Qur'an, 36:38)

These facts communicated in the Qur'an have been discovered by astronomical observations in our age. According to the calculations of experts on astronomy, the Sun is traveling at the enormous speed of 720,000 kilometers an hour in the direction of the star Vega in a particular orbit called the Solar Apex. This means that the sun travels roughly 17,280,000 kilometers a day. Along with the Sun, and all planets and satellites within the gravitational system of the Sun also travel the same distance. In addition, all the stars in the universe are in a similar planned motion.

"By the sky full of paths and orbits." (The Qur'an, 51:7)
Again, the verses from the Qur'an which the site quotes give absolutely no information that would not have been availabe to a 7th century Arab. Humans have been observing the heavens since the beginning of our history, and we realized very early on that the various celestial bodies move in fixed, predictable paths. Also, Surahs 21:33 and 36:38, interpreted in their most natural sense, advocate geocentrism, which is evidence against divine authorship, rather than for it. The former makes no distinction between the orbits of the sun and the moon, and the latter states that the sun "goes to it's resting place" i.e. it goes down behind the horizon and sits there. If the Quran were relating the scientific facts that this website claims it is, Surah 36:38 would say that the sun never rests, but rather is hurtling towards Vega as the earth orbits around it.

Quote:
However, by the time God makes the sun dance (or turn it into a Black hole sun as Soundgarden's Chris Cornell suggests), it would be too late to change your rusty mind...
God already has made the sun dance, my friend. It is not too late for you to repent and believe.

He has also fulfilled many of the prohecies of the Bible, such as this one:

Wisdom of Solomon, Chapter 2
They who said among themselves, thinking not aright: "Brief and troublous is our lifetime; neither is there any remedy for man's dying, nor is anyone known to have come back from the nether world...Let us beset the just one, because he is obnoxious to us; he sets himself against our doings, Reproaches us for transgressions of the law and charges us with violations of our training. He professes to have knowledge of God and styles himself a child of the LORD. To us he is the censure of our thoughts; merely to see him is a hardship for us, Because his life is not like other men's, and different are his ways. He judges us debased; he holds aloof from our paths as from things impure. He calls blest the destiny of the just and boasts that God is his Father. Let us see whether his words be true; let us find out what will happen to him. For if the just one be the son of God, he will defend him and deliver him from the hand of his foes. With revilement and torture let us put him to the test that we may have proof of his gentleness and try his patience. Let us condemn him to a shameful death; for according to his own words, God will take care of him." These were their thoughts, but they erred; for their wickedness blinded them, And they knew not the hidden counsels of God; neither did they count on a recompense of holiness nor discern the innocent souls' reward. For God formed man to be imperishable; the image of his own nature he made him. But by the envy of the devil, death entered the world, and they who are in his possession experience it.

This was fulfilled in Matthew 27:39-43
Those passing by reviled him, shaking their heads and saying, "You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself, if you are the Son of God, (and) come down from the cross!" Likewise the chief priests with the scribes and elders mocked him and said, "He saved others; he cannot save himself. So he is the king of Israel! Let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now if he wants him. For he said, 'I am the Son of God.'"

God has also left us with a visible sacrifice, wherein we may partake fully in His body, blood, soul, and divinity. He has even wrought miracles to edify those weak in faith.

Regarding this verse, I won’t be blaming you if you consider it a general statement that doesn’t particularly indicate a “big bang”. However, it gives an indication that the making of the universe went through a process (as the original Arabic text indicates) rather than it all-happened-all-of-a-sudden scenario (i.e. the heavens and earths were already created separately), which doesn’t contradict a “big bang” scenario.
However, if you’ve browsed through the other signs and indications in the same website, you could see that a “big bang” scenario is well proven in this link:

http://www.miraclesofthequran.com/as...eparation.html

Besides, people at that era wouldn’t understand it if issues of modern cosmology were thrown at their face by God. This would have caused more confusion than good, but God is so merciful. You should understand that Qur’an isn’t a book of science. Nevertheless, it stated many scientific facts, and the same verse that was revealed 1400 years ago would still be very consistent with the founding of modern cosmology, no contradiction!! And this, amazingly, goes for all the other verses. You see, if this illiterate Arab prophet was devising verses from his mind, you’d find many mistakes regarding such astronomical phenomena. The easiest thing for him is to copy from the Greeks, who were the pioneers of astronomical sciences at that time, i.e. the highest authority to refer to when discussing the cosmos. The earth-centered model that Aristotle suggested contradicted the 16th century approved Copernican model, which (if copied) have easily intimidated the existence of Qur’an, unless it is really a divine script.

Another Aristotle assumption was that objects in the heavens were made from a perfect, unchanging substance not found on the Earth. If you checked this link on the same website, you’d realize how the Qur’an stated the opposite regarding the origin of iron:
http://www.miraclesofthequran.com/physics_iron.html

Earth was regarded flat at that time. If someone said that earth takes more of a rounded shape, he’d be considered insane:

Unfortunately you don’t understand Arabic, but this doesn’t mean that you cannot look for the origin of the word translated as “resting”.

I’ve looked for the interpretation of that word in the Tafseer of the Qur’an that was produced centuries ago, and found that it means: it goes to a limit (both spatial and periodic) that it doesn’t exceed. This could indicate the course it takes in its motion and doesn’t deviate from, and it might indicate the limits of the elliptical orbit that the sun takes as well. Both are true.

Another translation of the same verse indicates the meaning I’ve already delivered:

“And the sun runs his course for a period determined for him: that is the decree of (Him), the Exalted in Might, the All-Knowing.” (Yaseen, 38)

Now come on:

1- This thing is not related to Christianity, Judaism, Islam, or Sanskritic civilization by any means, and it doesn’t prove or disapprove anything.

2- That was stated (according to the website) to happen in 1917. I wonder what were all the great astronomers of that golden era doing, while a single pious eyewitness saw the sun dancing through the mosaic glass in the roof of a church?

3- Nothing happened to the earth that day? Scientifically and logically speaking, the whole solar system could’ve vanished due to something like that (unless it’s judgment day). Remember (Yaseen, 36) from the above?

Simply, either the mosaic was in tremor, or the very sincere worshipper of God is day dreaming.

1- Honestly, I believe that the bible has been tampered with. Commandments were approved in some versions, while abolished in another.

HAS THE BIBLE BEEN TAMPERED WITH?

http://www.islamonline.net/fatwa/eng...hFatwaID=74493

2- The second part (of Matthew 27:39-43) shows the state of Jesus Christ –peace be upon him- while being on the cross. Logically, no revelations would have been sent from God after attempting to crucify him, as this was the last stage of his existence on earth, right? It describes his situation rather than telling his commandments. This means that this part couldn’t have been dictated from Jesus Christ –peace be upon him. Nevertheless, it shows that another human being is telling it (Matthew himself for instance)!

This would disintegrate the divinity and holiness of that text, i.e. it’s not Allah’s script. I hope this makes some sense

For that one, It states more of a supernatural phenomenon than a miracle of stating scientific facts as in the holy Qur’an than no one –including the prophet peace & blessings be upon him- could be aware of. Besides, it’s not part of the bible and isn’t related to the era of Jesus Christ –peace be upon him- at all.
And there are few reasons that would weaken the truth of this phenomenon:

1- It’s not widely known globally. And if it’s scientifically proven that those were the of humanoid nature, the church should’ve made a great banner of it in the media, which would’ve attracted more scientists to study it from all over the world, including Muslim ones and not only by Italian catholic scientists who are biased towards there religion and catholic church (who might have approved this alleged miracle after meeting the pope, who granted them forgiveness if they’ve done so).

2- This could have used fresh blood and flesh to prove so.

3- The following scripts taken from the bible show that drinking wine is prohibited in some versions of the bible. So how would God make a miracle in something he has prohibited? And how could those pious priests have drunk wine while it’s prohibited? This would put their trustworthiness under questions even if the commandment of drinking wine is a abolished in other bibles, since clerics should deal with commandments that are disputable upon by avoiding what would be closer to committing a sin rather than taking it easy.

With regard to drinking wine, we read in Isaiah 5:22: “Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink. ”

And in Leviticus, 10: 8-10, we read: "You and your sons are not to drink wine or other fermented drink whenever you go into the Tent of Meeting, or you will die. This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come.”

4- The 8th century is a period where the Islamic state was expanding hugely, and a lot of Christians, namely in Egypt, the Levant, and Constantinople, were voluntarily converting to Islam. So the church in Italy then had to make up a story so as to keep the faith among Catholics at that point.
