That being said, it stands to reason that I, too, can become emotional and reactive, past the point of argument, when my 'buttons' are pressed intentionaly and gradually. I have resorted to name-calling when the argument breaks down out of a failure to listen. I have dealt with amateurs, hence my frustration. On the other hand, whenever I deal with people 'up to the task' I find that things become quite productive for both parties involved. I am throwing my pearls to swine, here: no wonder I get mad. But, they're the ones who start it, everytime, and always so rudely. They get away with it, unnoticed.

Aww diddums........

You make claims.

You're asked for evidence for your claims.

You produce what you think is evidence.

It's shown to be inadequate.

You try more "evidence"

It's shown to be inadequate again.

You start to complain that you're being victimised.

Then people start laughing at you.

Then you really get upset.

Which is a shame.

If you weren't quite so far up yourself you'd realise that there are people around here who know a great deal more about the world than you do.

You should learn from that instead of taking a pouting fit every time you're shown to be wrong.

People might develop a respect for you.

Perhaps not the people who've witnessed your recent undignified attempts to cling to your rapidly vanishing credibility, but.. after all it's only an internet discussion room.

Anyway, I have to go now, I can only take this place for a while then it bores me.

I'll be back some time.

Enjoy the microstomum. That took a bit of work.

Find something less obscure next time.

Well, yeah, but what reason do you have for thinking that people "hate" you? It's possible for people to disagree without becoming that personally involved, surely?

Speaking for myself, I can't stand to talk to people I hate. Hate is worth reserving for people who merit it, and I've lived long enough to learn not to use words like "love" and "hate" towards people I hardly know.
