My dearest Lord,
Be thou a bright flame before me,
Be thou a guiding star above me,
Be thou a smooth path beneath me,
Be thou a kindly sheperd behind me,
Today and for evermore.

St.Columba of Iona

Well me neither! I've got that prayer out of a celtic poems and prayers book. It's from St.Columba and there are many more just as inspiring.I'm usually not a very christian person but somehow I long for more spirituality nowadays.

Here's another one I like very much.

As the hand is made for holding
And the eye for seeing,
You have fashioned me, O lord, for joy.
Share with me the vision
To find that joy everywhere:
In the wild violet's beauty,
In the lark's melody,
In the face of a steadfast man,
In a child's smile,
In a mother's love,
In the purity of Jesus.

Talisien, I found those poems/prayers to be most beautiful! I am a Christian and though not perfect by any means, I strive to try to live for Christ, as difficult as that is for me. Anyway, thank you for sharing those poems/prayers.

I'm glad you enjoyed them!
I bought a book on celtic prayers when I was in Cornwall in July. I confess that I'm not a good christian aswell, I hardly ever go to chruch, but somehow I don't think that's necessary. I much rather prefer to sit somewhere outside, listening to the water and the wind and admiring all nature which is devine and a wonder of its' own.
