Thank you Mikal; I for one appreciate your time & courage in a hostile environment.
We of the west can learn a lot about our own religious history by reading your Holy Book.

Feartie: A bit of childish overkill there & not very polite to a visitor.

"The claim of Rome". FNB, this is not my beef; but I thought you might have some dispute with this site.

Theja, I came across that site a while ago. Atheists.org has a link to it as an example of ridiculous Christian bigotry, targeted at children. They are right to some extent.

I don't approve of every political move the Church has made in the past 2000 years. On the contrary, I and most Catholics who know a bit of history realise that many Popes were greedy war mongerers. But the original theology has survived intact.

Auld-Kelpie, I plan on reading the Qur'an fairly soon. I've just been looking for an excuse to advertise that website.

read qoran then you can judge if qoran is true or not.
many christians talk against qoran but they never read it.

God said in qoran:

62. Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

256. Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.

257. Allah is the Protector of those who have faith: from the depths of darkness He will lead them forth into light. Of those who reject faith the patrons are the evil ones: from light they will lead them forth into the depths of darkness. They will be companions of the fire, to dwell therein (For ever).

in qoran you can read about jesus life, his miracles, qoran honour this great man, still it is many christians who talk against this book.

Like I said, I do plan on reading the Qoran so I can judge it for myself.

The reason I don't trust the accounts of Jesus' life that are contained in the Qoran is that the person who wrote the accounts was not an eyewitness to the events of Jesus' life, nor did he know any eyewitnesses. The only way the Qoran could be accurate was if it was inspired by God, which, as a Christian I don't believe. I think it more likely that the author read the Bible and invented new versions of the story of Jesus' life that fit better with Muslim theology.
