I have to admit it has been a while since someone had used that already aging joke. I was almost starting to miss it. However, since the Sharp in Sharp_Kid is obviously so misunderstood, I will repay the favour of ignorance by ignoring such stupid opening remarks.

Please call the foreign service office of those countries and ask the number of applicants and how long the lines are each work day of the week.
I'll take your word, and my knowledge, that there is perfect truth in the huge number of applicants, but I will question the percentage against population of those countries.

You will be surprised at the thousands of visa rejections they had to issue.
No, I'm sure I won't.

But Buddhist, Muslim, and Hindu nations eagerly welcome tourists
Tourists you say? And what has that got to do with permenant relocation?

I'm just impressed with that pearl of wisdom.

Good for their economy.
Cleverer than we give them credit for then, aren't they.

I rest my case.
And what a fantastically over-rated one in your own head it was.

So let me summarise your case for you.
We don't let lots of people from absolutely huge countries with populations so mega that the applicants make up such a small minority, take up residence in our good old Christian countries. Well of course because we don't want to cater for their needs when we are already greedy enough as it is.

We don't want to go live in those other countries ourselves, generally because we're rather shallow and like to believe that we have everything we could ever need in the good old western hemisphere, and they probably only want us for our money anyway, but we're happy to go their on holiday and spend all our money, and the locals are quite happy to take our money.

Of course, what validates your case further is that my understanding of the Bible is that I shouldn't take it quite so litteraly as some people do, and therefore I have no authority on it. Well hell, I'm glad you were around to set me straight on that one.

Oh, and your understanding of the term Sharp_Kid is inferior enough for you to make the assumption that it relates to my intellect. Kind of a reflection of yours then really, don't you think?

Good work Theja.
Next time you want to lie to us and then ***** at anyone who pulls you up on it, let me know in advance and I'll ignore your post.

To everyone else, I'd loved to have ignored this troll, but it really got my (billy) goat (gruff) up.

And whilst I'm at it, I think you'll find that the huge lines of immigrants are trying to escape poverty, not other religions. And there are numerous rich states which are not Christian and poor states which are Christian, so the evidence to say Christian states prosper, which would be your predictable argument against immigrants escaping poverty, is flawed before you've even read my first post.

MWAHAHAHAhahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...............

Call me whatever you like.

PS. Why is the word for a female dog starred out? Seems a bit of an odd filter to me.

The first few chapters of Luke imply that Jesus did learn to read. Also, if He hadn't read the OT I don't think He would have been able to quote it so well.
Thank you, Fear. I'd never noticed that.

NOTHING PERSONAL

Folks, please don't take anything said here personal. Sometimes strong words are needed to make a point, and that is what I did on my part --- maybe yours too, I guess.

I get a little exercised when people blame the Bible for what it is not. Or ignore the contribution its influence made in societies.

About long lines thing, Millions in the third world would jump at the opportunity, but don't even try it because they know the chance of getting visa is zero, or almost zero.

Nothing personal, Theja, I just love a good argument, and you can say what you like here without fear of ever coming face to face with your opposition.

Anyway, I still say the reason for so many immigrant wannabe's is due to poverty and not religion, and religion isn't conclusively linked to wealth.

That, and freedom, Sharp_Kid. Having spoken with many immigrants here the theme i hear most often is still freedom, not economic reasons. (Though i'm sure economic reasons often has a lot to do with it).

I've met several people, like someone who used to be a doctor in Poland, who were willing to give up the wealth and status they had in their home country, cars, a nice home and things, for less here in the U.S. because it meant they would have greater freedom of choice. They seem to be very happy with their decision, too.
