I would have to choose the Bible. Because it has lessons to learn form it no matter what type of situation you're in. Plus it still can make you ponder things in life that even Aristole wouldn't even think about.

I think certain children broke the stained glass windows with stones, so they've been boarded up.

Now as for "Gastronomique" ....that's got some real possibilities! Now you're talkin! But i wouldn't pick a cookbook for myself. After a while i'd get bored and go back to inventing my own recipes.

It wouldnt be

The book of Guidance wouldnt be the Christian Bible that has caused more problems and wars in the world than anything in fact we can live well without any religions, to many wars caused by all religions name one book of religion that hasnt caused a war in people,
Id settle for a surviors guide on what to eat common sense guides us with the rest,

No Buddhist text has ever been the cause of wars. The most famous book The Tibetan book of the dead is based upon ancient texts which are every bit as relevant now as they were when they were written. It is a guide to humanity on how to live and how to come to terms with mortality. It sets out the path that each soul should take in order to break free from the Samsaric cycle of continuous rebirth and attain true self knowledge and inner peace.
