Opinions everyone...are we 50 years or closer/further from the "apocalypse"?

I have no idea. First there has to be some momentous event that will shake the faith of many believers. If the Catholic sex scandal fulfilled that, the apocalypse is really freaking close. If not, it could still be hundreds or even thousands of years off. I would lean toward the hundreds, because the apocalypse should happen before we humans kill ourselves off by destroying the environment.

I agree with you on that! But I don´t believe in the apocalypse so I think we will destroy ouselves pretty soon if we go on living like we do now..

Why should be we not consider the destruction of our environment to be an apocolypse of sorts?
If there is to be an apocolypse I think it will be at the hands of man rather than directly from God.
It will be a nuclear disaster or a man induced environmental disaster.
Unless of course we are hit by a really big asteroid (which is due to happen around 2100, but we've already spotted the culprit and are making plans to divert it's course using laser technology).

I was only refering to the biblical apocalypse but you´re right, if the earth will be destroyed it is kind of an apocalypse no matter who or what started it.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I think the world is in a dire state of peril...

Has anyone been to Hollywood lately? It should be renamed "Sodom"...or maybe "Gomorrah". Oh the things you can see on any given day there!

What about the state of the world's morals? I happened across "Sex in the City" yesterday and I won't bother to share with you what I heard...

I was studying Revelation a few months ago and I was working myself silly trying to figure out what parts of it meant...I pulled out copies of anceint scrolls, went to the library and checked out books on anceint symbolism, and surfed the internet until my brain was fried.

All my work has lead me to one conclusion...we're toast. Not only are we toast, but we DESERVE to be toast! Take a look at what we're doing to the world, our fellow creations, and even ourselves! It's sad...it really is.

But, I think we've still got a few years left. I'd guess about 20-25.

Its sad, & its bad, but its Human Nature! If we r not given direction & positive feedback about ourselves while young, & r taught,that we have value & can change things 4 the better of all of us on the Planet, then we r indeed doomed!Hate destroys & there is so much hate, being stoked up by those with an "Agenda", if we can see thru this, we may just survive, but again, we r stuck with Human Nature! We can only hope, Pray, (2 whatever Force 1 beleives in) & educate ourselves, & our young!
