Has someone harrassed you? Have they told you that you will burn in hell for some reason? If they did, they were trying to scare you for their own evil end. That is not the way the Bible was intented to be used... at least not in my mind.
Remember... God is loving and forgiving. Thinking about God should be a comfort, not distressing. God is aware we are not perfect creatures and still loves us. Try to be patient in sorting this out. Many people will have opinions, but you have to look out for people who seek to tear you down. |

Have you ever heard the song "Accentuate the Positive"? It goes something like this (I'm probably breaking some huge copyright law or something): "Ac-cen-tuate the positive. Elim-inate the negative. Latch on, to the affirmative. Don't mess with Mr. In-Between. To demonstrate my last remark Jonah and the whale...Noah and the ark. What did they do, when everything looked so dun, duh, dun-dun?" Then pretty much it starts over again. But it's a cute little ditty and it's actually good advice.
You won't burn in hell Sean. There's forgiveness, believe me. |

Well Sean, if there wasn't forgiveness then we would ALL go to Hell. What person hasn't made a mistake at one point or another in life? I know I'm not perfect.
How do we obtain said forgiveness? It's there for the asking. Christians like me believe that Jesus died and felt the pain for EVERY SINGLE ONE of our sins...even for the sins of the people that never take advantage of the atonement. And I think that if people don't take advantage of what Christ did for us then it's like saying "whatever!" to Christ's pain...and 'cause I'm a nice person I don't like saying "whatever" to anyone's pain. So all you have to be forgiven is work on building a testimony in Christ. Then you confess your sin (to the Lord, you don't even have to involve another person), forsake them (whatever bad thing you did try your hardest not to do it again), and then ask to be forgiven. Oh, and I wasn't suggesting that YOU did a "bad thing"...I mean the "you" as in anyone. Then the Bible says that God forgets about our sin. He doesn't actually "forget" it, but he doesn't hold it against us anymore. All you have to do is ask. |
