Well, it's not that I have the most interesting and exciting life in the world. I believe life is good because I see purpose and a plan, and I see a place for myself in that plan. I don't very often feel lost or bored, because there's always something to do. I believe that the world is progressing towards perfection, and I am overjoyed to have a hand in the process.

And I don't really fear death either. It could just be a delusion, but I believe in eternal life.

Sure, I'll be friends with you. I won't shove religion down your throat. But if you mention subjects like the meaning of life I'll probably start talking about it.

The first book is available in any book store. Frankl was a Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Medicine who, unfortunately, was a prisoner in three Nazi camps and lost his family. Despite the horror of it, he maintained that life "never ceases to have meaning." He filled me with a great optimism.

The second book is out-of-print but can be found in Britain, used, or online.

Neither book is religiously based. They are meant as tools, whether you believe in God or not.

Both books argue that pessimism is self-refuting. I myself have a terribly hard life, and am prone to bitterness, but always I hope and always I think much of the capability of man.
