Sharp_Kid...actually, I wasn't about to suggest that SHC is a punishment from God...somehow it just doesn't "feel" right. When you've studied the scriptures as much as I have you start to get a "feel" for what vengence from heaven is like. SHC is just a little too...messy(?) maybe.

I have another theory, and it is totally crazy. You'll probably chalk it up to a writer's overactive imagination. Anyway, this theory requires a little backstory. I don't suppose you've ever read "The Montauk Project: Experiments in Time" by Preston Nichols? If not, you should order it because it's REALLY interesting.

Anyway, based on what I gathered from the series of Montauk books I read, it occured to me that maybe SHC could be the result of some sort of experiment with time. Timelines that are moving, shifting, and colliding are bound to have consequences that are less than "pretty".

That would be a fascinating theory, and I'd love to play around with the physics of it.
Any ideas where to start?
You could be onto an earth shattering discovery.
Or, it could be a writers overactive imagination.
You could think about writing something along those lines, but you'd need some sort of underlying scientific principle, even if it's one you make up.
Do I feel the first collaborative piece of work to come from these fora coming on?

Sharp_Kid...I know it sounds totally ridiculous, but you really ought to read that book by Preston Nichols...it gets into some really crazy stuff about mind control, cloning, time travel, and any other wacky thing you could possibly imagine. The only reason I consider it remotely credible is because I have a "gut" feeling on it...and the guy's got evidence proving that the American government has tried to "shut him up" *cough,cough...KILL HIM* more times than I'd care to count.

I'd love to write a screenplay about shifting time 'causing SCH...and yeah, I'd totally have to fudge my way through the science of it. But I would probably end up waiting a few years...my mom has a screenplay that touches on the subject of time travel that is in pre-production and I wouldn't want to step on her toes.
