A Scottish Breakfast

i doubt if the pic is of a scots breakfast due to the lack of said skwerr sossij.

there'd be complaints if it was served to some.

I think it's Hagrid's breakfast before he goes off to slam a few dementor heids thegether.

So what's all there ?

- fried eggs
- bacon
- sausages (look like the links were cut by a rabbi)
- black pudding
- fried tomatoes
- mushrooms
- fried potatoes
- baked beans
- that thing in the middle (looks like a Singapore murtaba)
- toast

- some folk would add a dod of haggi (not me though)

and whaur is the Lorne Sausage may I enquire ?

Just giving it its "proper" name Pol You're from Edinburgh, you should know that !

I'd never heard the name before (my Dad from Argyll and mum from Musselburgh). I first heard the name when I met my future wife, a Leith lassie (well actually Dryden St, off-Leith Walk) and that's what her family all called it and I noticed Edinburgh butchers labelled it as that too.

To this day, I still have no idea why it's called Lorne Sausage. Perhaps it was a favourite of a Duke of Argyll's eldest son ? Or not !

Yes, I know it as Lorne - I was told that was a corruption of Larne as the sausage had its origins in Norn Ireland... but I'm quaite comfortayble using the weegie skwerr sossij description, anaw! (Note the uncomfortable mix of Morningsaide end Lallans there?)

BTW - don't know whether the Lorn/Larne story is just an urban myth!
