I don't know of any cat or dog breeds being developed in Scotland, but a few dogs that have an association with Scotland include; Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie), West Highland Terriers, and Border Collies.

Do me a favour. Duhhhhhh..... the clue is in the breed name.

Scottish breeds include
Skye terrier
Cairn terrier
Border terrier
Scottish terrier
Westie
Collie

The Scottish wildcat is a REAL breed. Look it up on Wikipedia - ditto the Scots dog breeds.

Polsworth, sometimes a cat or dog breed may have a named for a country, or state, but they may come form another area. For example, the Chinese Harlequin, a new cat breed, was developed in the US.

Are the folds very popular?

Do Irish shorthairs exist, and are any found in Scotland?
