Details below!

I went camping last night. Camping is a human diversion where they attempt to get away from civilization by using a tent or other primitive structure for overnight stays. It's a return to the great outdoors for these humans. Some are survivalist campers who set off with little more than the clothes on their backs. Others, like the Big Owner, undertake camping with all the luxuries of home - an inflatable mattress, warm sleeping materials, and, yes, a generator and satellite TV.

I never get to go on those trips. (Thankfully.) But I *do* get to go on the shorter camping trips with the Mrs. Owner when she, on impulse during a warm summer night, decides to roll out a sleeping bag on the back deck of the house. She enjoys "camping under the stars" and, when the hour is late, is known for setting up camp just outside the back door. She unfolds a cheap chaise lounge, lays outs the sleeping bag, crawls in, and star-gazes until she falls asleep. No one else in the family does it. Except me.

Normally I sleep indoors on the bed, on top of the Big Owner; wherever I can make him uncomfortable. But when the Mrs. rolls out the camping gear for a night on the deck, it's my opportunity to go primordial and sleep outside for a night in a manner to which I have become accustomed. So I follow her outside and wait for her to set up camp, and, when she quickly nods off to sleep, I jump up on the warm sleeping bag and burrow myself in. That's where I stay. All night. Sometimes she stirs, but that's no big deal. I understand that when you camp you don't always sleep in the most comfortable of positions, so I surf her human body until she stops and settle in again.

Last night I stayed up most of the night taking in the camping experience: The sound of the night creatures (I was tempted to go hunt a few down), the bright stars (I counted them all), and the fresh, cool air (which, being fully covered in fur, I appreciated). I have to say that camping is one of the rare human amusements that cats enjoy, too.

It was a good day.

Will you chew until it bleeds?
Can you get up off your knees?
Are you brave enough to see?
Do you want to change it?
