Taking care of cat bites and scratches can help prevent infection.

Cat bites can cause infections for humans such as cat scratch disease, so be sure to wash all bites and scratches immediately with soap and water. Bandaqge the area and keep your pet fro licking it. Applying antibiotic ointment twice daily can provide further protection from infection. If you've been bitten and are not up-to-date on your tetanus
shots, call your health care provider.

[i]I've a wee scratch on my nose.. lol.. Misty just don't settle down lol..

I use to work with this many I knew many years ago. He got bitten by a cat and I guess didn't take care of the bite fast enough. A week later he was in the hospital with blood poisioning. There was a deep red line going up his forearm and the Doctor said if he didn't have that treated in time, the blood infection would have made its way up to his heart and really been bad, possible death..

Yeah...those red streaks radiating out from th initial ijury are a bad indication---the person needs immediate medical attention. I'm glad your friend decided to see the doctor. I hope he was OK!
