I am about to take ownership of two black kittens (8 weeks old) and I need some help with names...any suggestions ?

Uqbar and Aleph are Borgesian names

Kara and Siyah (see-ya) are two Turkish words for black.

Dubh (Doov) and Dorch (Dor -ach) are two Gaelic words for black

Onyx, Absidian and Agate are black semi-precious stones,

Also, Jet and Pitch

Olive and Sloe are black fruits.

Chia and Oscuro are funny but maybe a little too clever.

Thanks for the suggestions

Thanks all for the good suggestions- I shall keep these in mind and once I can get some idea of their personalities, I shall see which fit best. I did think Mog 1 and Mog 2 lacked originality

I just have to hope they get on with my existing two cats- one ginger, the other ginger and white, both brothers. They are good cats, one's always outdoors exploring, the other always indoor sleeping. My...what a hard life cats have.

Dogs that are loved have a pretty 'hard' life too...lol. Borges takes control of the couch in the living room...he also loves to put his huge head on my lap and takes his paw and asks to be patted on the head and his long ears kissed and stroked...and when I am sad for some reason he knows that...and comes over to comfort me...My husband takes him everywhere...with him. And one time, just the other day my husband went to get some dinner for his clients...and brought Borges along...he is a very good looking dog...and the employee at the fast food window liked him so much he gave my husband a free extra fries and a burger for Borges for free...

There is a free park with lakes and etc. for dogs and their owners only leash free....they wade and swim, and run and jump...I love to see animals having fun....nothing makes me happier than to see my Borges running through the pine forest, and jumping in a crystal clear lake in the Mountains...he always comes back to us with his tongue hanging out of his face....

I knew he loved us a lot, when at 11pm at night my husband had the crazy idea a couple of years ago on a hot summer night to go out and see if we could unloosen a paddle boat at the park, and paddle around the lake...we were successful..but as we paddled around, Borges on the edge of the lake panicked and thought we were drowning---he barked wildly and then jumped off the dock there and swam towards us to 'rescue' us from our predicament...I laughed...until I realized he was truly concerned...and was getting exhausted swimming trying to get to us...I love that dog!!

Yep. Both fruits. (More technically, an olive is a drupe, a word that should only apply to flaccid suckers.)

Eggplant... Hmmm. In France and the UK they call it Aubergine. So how about Aubergine and Ubermensch?

What did you name your kitten, anyway? We always let our kids name our cats. Big mistake. We've endured a succession of Snowflakes, Rainbows, Fairies and Tigers.

Is your wife still alive? I hope so...it sounds like you love her a lot...

And you have adult children too? I wonder how old you are sg?
