I have a 9 yr old Shetland Sheepdog and never realized how small he was until my friend came over and told me she had one who was twice as big as the one I had. I just figured it was because she fed her dog whatever she ate, which could be more fattening. But yesterday, I passed a cafe with a woman who had her Sheltie with her and the dog was huge. She brought her dog from Japan so I'm not sure what kind of food the dog eats.

All I feed my dog is dry dog food. Would anyone think it's the food or the possibility that he was the runt of the litter that is the reason he's small? Just curious.

My book of dog breeds says they should be between 12 and 15 inches. Whereas a ***** should be a smaller than a male dog. Guess you just have the smaller version.
