I believe the same can be said of dogs.

Did read somewhere that having a pet that needs to be petted is good for what ails you. It gets you more relaxed as you pet the animal. If I remember it, the animals were being used with "disturbed" kids as a method of controlling their mood swings. The idea was to reduce the need for drugs. Don't remember much more, it was a while ago I read it.

However at odd time some pets have been known to have the other effect, but of course, an owner would never admit to it being their little baby, would they??????. (lol)

I like wee furry animals but nothing relaxes me more than staring into my fishtank.

Reiverix...it's commom knowledge here that many "professional type" (docotr's, etc. ) have fidh taanks in their offices because they are so relaxing---to look at them, that is. Then, of course, a lot of bars have fish tanks---I guess drinking can be stressful! (when I was married, my husband and I had a salt water aquarium---those fish were beautiful!) What kind of tank do you have?

Tropical freshwater. Tetras and catfish. Nothing too fancy. I prefer the smaller shoaling fish that dart around but have to agree that sal****er fish are dazzling.
