My cat, truly an indoor cat, ran outside after two stray cats Sunday morning, and of course, I went after him. When it looked like a fight was about to begin, I grabbed for my cat...and I got bit and scratched on my hand and forearm
(BY him)... IT was swollen the next morning, so I went to my doctor's, who told me that I had to go to an emergency room for a tetanus shot. lol While there, an animal control technician told me that I'd have to have my cat quaranteed. The end result is that my cat (he looks like Emily's kitten) is at the vet's; matter-of-fact, he's in a cage in the vet's business office. He's getting the next treatment for tapeworms there...and he will learn to eat dry food again...and I miss him!! This quarantine is as hard on me as it is on him. lol I'm having to take some VERY EXPENSIVE antibiotics---the lesson learned? I will NEVER EVER try to stop a cat fight! Y'know, I keep saying that I'm not stupid...LOL, LOL, because if I don't laugh, I'll cry! LOL He's a cat I rescued.

Hi Tex,
Is your kitty still in quaraintine? What was it quarantined for? Rabies?.. I can barely stand being away from my girls for a few hours let alone days..

Can you get up off your knees?
Are you brave enough to see?
Do you want to change it?

Yes, My kitty will be in quarantine for another four-five
days; he is there even though he's had his rabies vacination (by the same vet)! There is a state law for this quarantine; I'm sure it's for a very good reason, but it seems 'overkill' in this case. But, at least this vet and her staff is about the best place for him to be (other than MY home). Thanks for asking.

Yes it is a shame he is in there..and i am sure he understands none of it... but at least you know he is not back out on the streets again...

I am sure he will be home in your loving embrace before you know it

[i]Texasmujer, I'm sorry I've not replied sooner.. but you have my sympthy hon.. I don't know what I would do if my Girls had to be put in Quarantine.. let alone for the amount of time they are keeping your wee one.. its terrible, and it does seem a bit overkill. I would image that they have all his records as you said it was the same vet, so why is it being treated as if this is some "off the street" Cat?.. Oh.. BTW.. what ever happened to the other Cat that he was fighting with? Did they catch him?

Anyway.. when he does come home.. Im sure it will be a grand reunion.. hee hee... Just make sure you've plenty of treats.. just incase he is a bit pissed

lol

Mistress

The other cat...? This is crazy...it was this female cat (a stray, obviuosly pregnant) and one of her older offspring; I'm waiting 'til she has this litter, then I'm going to take her to the Humane shelter to get her spayed, then I WILL find homes for her and her kittens! She is such a sweet kitty; this cat was around the complex last year; she disappeared for about eight months, then she just appeared on my doorstep about 5 weeks ago; she'll eat food that I put out, then disappear until the next afternoon for her next meal. Yes, I agree that it IS overkill concerning quarqantining my cat---especially since the same vet gave
him his rabies shot! We've just got another week to go with this quarantine...it will be nice to have my kitty home again...
