Most dog owners clean their dog's feet after the
occasional romp in the mud, but what about the day-to-day dirt? If your dog spends a lot time outdoors, try this: Fill a basin or tub with likewarm water, then dampen your pet's feet. Apply a mild bacterial soap to your hand and form a lather, then gently massage the bottom of each paw, being careful to get between the pads. Check for small stones or other foreign bodies. Rinse each paw well and talke a look at the water. You might be appalled, especially if you let your dog sleep on your bed with you. My dog's feet get covered in so much mulch and sap that his paws need a bath every two or three days. |

Actually, I have only a cat; but I figured dog owners like information, too. I can have only one pet where I live, and it's driving me crazy---I'd like to have room so I could "rescue" animals---but, then, I'd probably have a barnyard full of animals.
