what about a south-african accent, hmm? Naah, I'll be the first to tell you we sound thick as two planks!!
I know what you mean though, to me, accents are immediate conversation starters (that's why I slap mine on a bit heavy sometimes )

Accents are definitely a plus. Specially if the other person gets little randy from the accent.
