Hi there!

Some may remember me from former postings (I had a nice time with my virtual windows). I'm planning to go to Scotland around the time of July 2000 and live there for some time or, even better, the rest of my life. Is anybody out there that could give me some hints how I could get a job in Scotland from here (which is the drop dead boring Germany)?
I'd appreciate it very much.

Greetings,
MarkHunter

What are you qualified in Mark? Any specialist skills? What do you do for a living presently?

At the moment I'm doing civil service in a hospital. I've done my Abitur (s.th. like A-levels) this year so I've had no job training or anything yet. I like working with languages but my English is far, far away from perfect. Um, no, sorry, no specialist skills. I think I'll settle for low income jobs anybody could do...

I would try to get involved with one of the "international" recruitment agencies...
www.manpower.co.uk has offices all over the world - your local German office may be able to tell you about work in Scotland.

Other than that, theres a few websites specialising in UK/Scottish jobs, so get surfing!
