A "fott" passenger. Are you referring to my weight? I'm tall but not overweight. Can you translate that for me. And I apologize for 'whiskey. You guys are asleep when I'm online but it's rather late here too - tired eye. Whisky! Who makes the best in Scotland?

sorry, fott=foot. Ie, without car. (there's a car ferry too, can't remember where that goes from).

As to your whisky question, welllll, you could be about to start a Jihad here! My own preference is for single malts, preferaly highland or speyside. I'd recomend Glenmorangie (distilled close to where I live) or Glenfiddach. Others no doubt will have their own opinions, really depends on your personal tastes.

dferg,

All this talk about WHISKY. Do you drink ale? If so, what is the best ale in Scotland? Not stout...

Are there any wine drinkers out there? I guess the Scotish climate is a bit cold for grape growing, but it's such a custom in Europe.

Actually, I'm a wine drinker by preference. Whisky for special occasions. I mostly prefer dry whites, and I'm a big fan of South African, and New Zealand wines. I also like fairly full bodied reds.

My dad is an occasional ale drinker, but I'm not really up on it. there are some nice sort of independant ones which you can seek out over here.
