Bonjour,

J'aimerai me faire des connaissances.

J'aimerai me rendre en Ecosse cet automne.

Samantha

PS: If necessary, I can speak in english too.

English works for me... tho at a push I can still translate French (and my youngest is learning the language so maybe he'll help out when I get stuck!)

Anyway Samantha, feel free to ask what you want about this wonderful country... and enjoy your visit! How many times have you been over here?

And it goes something like...

Hello Samantha,

How's it going? I come from just outside Glasgow. It' been a while since i've spoken French, but well..

Firstly, Welcome to the forums of scotland and I hope that you like very much this website and the people inside.

If you want to speak with me, that would be good because I have to work a little on the state of my French.

P.S. I think it would be better to speak in English on the forums. ( suggestion )

Salut

Hello again Samantha

Any questions you have about places to visit in Scotland would probably be best placed in the travel section of the forum. With regard to Glasgow and Edinburgh, there are plenty of places to go in the evening and both have their good points (like any other city anywhere else in the world I guess). I don't know Glasgow too well (maybe GlasgowMan can give you some information there) but in Edinburgh the Royal Mile is definitely worth a visit - there are many pubs from the top (near the castle) to the bottom (by the palace) and there are always plenty of people about... although some of them may be taking part in the ghost tours (so don't be surprised if someone jumps out of the shadows to frighten passers-by!)

Wherever you end up, I hope you have a good time and tell us all about it on your return!

All the best, Bruce (ScotsTraveller)

P.S. I hope you can read this alright as I am unsure about the French translation for most of it

Hello,

Thank you for your message. If I am in this forum is to make some contacts with Scots. I would like to discuss about Scotland or others items. The target for me is to see people when I will be in Scotland. I come each year in Scotland, and I love this country. People are so different than the English. More friendly and cool.

Well, I hope this message is ok. I am afraid about my english.

So "bonne journée et merci"
Samantha

I am happy to discuss anything to do with Scotland with you... and your English is fine (I've seen people who claim it as their first language use it much worse !)
