A decade or two of experience teaches us that men are no different from women in the sense that we're individuals. . . attracted to different things.. . some prefer short & curvey, some prefer tall & willowly, and while some fantasize about centerfolds, most of the mature guys realize that real women do not look like that . . . with the possible exceptions of annoyingly gorgeous girls like the Kardashian sisters. . . if you're attracted to a woman, if a man likes the way she moves, how she dances, how she smells, well then, who cares about the rest? I've also heard men say that, "all cats are grey in the dark." But that may be a tad to the left.

What kind of ridiculous questions is this?? That's like asking an American man what he prefers! American men and Scottish men are still men. And some men like blondes, some men like brunettes, and some men like redheads. Some men like quiet, thoughtful, smart women, and other men like loud, dumb women who can't think for themselves.

I don’t think her question is stupid. I agree each person has their idea of what is attractive and what isn’t. I took her question to mean do the people in Scotland hold to the same idea of what is acceptable in looks as we do here in the US?

Here this is a pressure to look a certain way and if you don’t look like a Barbie or Ken doll then you aren’t acceptable. My 9 year old daughter is asking me for diet pills and diet books because she is already feeling the pressure to conform to society’s standards.

I have dealt more with the Hispanic culture mostly people from Mexico and Guatemala and I can tell you they have a different idea of body image and what they find attractive then we do here in the US.

I thought at least Scottish men were respectful , but everyone has a right to their opinion I believe. Oh Well, I guess I have to exclude that part of my research.
