Many Scots do go to the Island of Jersey for summer work - but perhaps a Channel Islands site might be a better way of contacting such men?

Perhaps you need to realise that the 'old world' areas are more commonly understood here in Europe than the Sopranos of the new world?

Hey hey hey...how did you know I'm of Italian descent and from the northern part of Jersey? I can assure you though that despite the fact that the main house in that show was one town away from where I grew up, I am not at all like the characters. I am a nice, non-violent girl. However, after a few beers you might hear me say "caw-fee". haha

The point being made here is that the usa is not the world .
The prefix 'new' is used in the names of some american locals because they are merely named after the actual places , that is , that they are not the originals ,
You are not from Jersey , you may be from a place called new jersey , but that is not the the island of Jersey .
This sort of confusion is not uncommon

This is an international internet forum .
