Talking

I have been to Scotland and fell in love with the country and the people. I would love to live there someday. I am an American with ancestors in Scotland and Ireland. I would love to meet a nice Scotsman to have a relationship with but it is hard to do from here. I live in Florida and all the men here are rednecks. I can't stand rednecks. For those who do not know, a redneck is a guy who wears camouflage all year round, fight their dogs, hunts, fish, and lives in a trailer and has no goals. That's why I'm still single after being divorced for 4 yrs. I have no urge to date. I'm am southern but far from a redneck. I do miss Scotland. I had such fun. I am planning to go back someday hopefully sooner than later. I think Americans like the Scots because they are truly great laid back people who like to have fun. I also want to add...TOO RIGHT Grievsey!!!! Very well said!!! I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!

Nemesis.. you're right. They are very nice there... and once you make contact... you have a free place to crash... or exchange should they decide to visit you too!

Well it is certainly nice to know that our reputation is intact across the water. On the flipside of that I have always found Americans to be very open and transparent about how they feel and how they express themselves. Itis a rae quality in such a cynical world.

And of course the Scots are terrible flirts..its all part of the rich tapestry of life.

I would whole-heartedly agree. Men (or women) who don't compromise their ideals, morals, character, etc., are very easy to admire.

I'm a 34 year old woman. By no means do I suffer from a "father complex," and as a general rule am NOT attracted to older gentlemen. That being said, Sean Connery is very sexy. I would be hard-pressed to turn him down.

There isn't a doubt in my mind that the aforementioned men have paved the road to ridiculously easy sex for Scotsmen.

Far more than the sex issue, I think you're spot on. Confidence and being comfortable in one's own skin is extremely attractive to the opposite sex. Regardless of what part of the world one lives in, it's simply one of those universally attractive traits.

I am on a parallel track. It is hard, but it's worth pursuing. Go gal and how! Hey, when ******* Oil's slick wreaks havoc in FL maybe you'll head to California here and we can start a project to make this easier for everyone.

(Of course I live in Alaska - so it's either fish or trees) Are there tall handsome Scotsmen? Again, a rather American "I dunno" will interject here. I personally have never met any.... so.... "I dunno" LOL
It isn't necessarily the romance novels...they make all men seem fantastic. I love the accent. Silly maybe, but it just sounds like music when I hear it. When I think about some of the things people look for in a partner, a melodic accent might not be that crazy. Plus, the Scotsmen I have met in NYC are so much fun--that kind of lust for life that New Yorkers have decided they are too cool to demonstrate anymore. The reasons would depend on the individual and their experiences. One of my closest friends is from Edinburgh, so he may have just done a good job of convincing me that Scotsmen are he best. Anyway, that's why I like them. Oh...and I get a kick out of being called lass!
