Smile new to this

Hello, my name is Catherine. I live in Connecticut, USA and am very new to this. I am curious about Scotsmen, having heard very nice things. I also figure distance is safe. I am single, 44 years old with a 19 year old son and 18 year old daughter. I have always wanted to visit Scotland, yet have never had the chance, or the money to do so.
I would love to just be able to talk to someone respectfully with simple conversation.
Is this possible, or am I dreaming?

Hi Catherine!

Just wanted to offer some support. My name is Jennifer, and I'm also from Connecticut, USA. I'm new to this, too, and am hoping to get some new friends.

I haven't been over to Scotland yet myself, but am really, really trying to plan something for next year. I've been doing my family history and find that just about everyone (even as close as my great-grandfather) on both sides is from Scotland.

Hope you hear from someone soon. I just posted my first "personal" and am hoping to at least get a hello.

Good luck! And just remember you have a fellow Constitution State-r with you.

Hi Jennifer. Thanks for responding. I haven't been on this site since the first time back in March. Have you received any responses from anyone? I noticed your user name. Are you a fan of Diana Gabaldon by chance? I loved that series! I wouldn't mind having a Jaime of my own.
Have you planned a trip yet?
I happened to get back on this site today, because I've been contemplating a trip to Scotland possibly at the end of the summer.
Thanks again for responding. I will be more diligent in checking from now on.
CAT
