Talking Creatures of Habit

My husband is a creature of habit...but me? Nope. I can not finish things .....i need a 'finisher person'..but.... I am going to a Hypnotherepist! (i can not spell this word). She is going to reprogram my subconscious and conscious mind. I will learn to finish projects like my left brained husband. I am a right brained thinker. Do people think I am wasting money? It is not cheap to pay for and it takes about 5 weeks of going and spending $$$$$$$$. Hey Holly? Are you the Holly who has been writing in these Threads for a few years? If yes........."HEY....how are you?"...you ARE a creature of habit.......yes?

Hi there,

Personally, I am all for self help, I have in the past gone for counseling, in helping me to gain some perspective and getting an objective non-biased opinion. They say its easier to talk to strangers and I completely agree. The best thing about it is that it gives you the tools and resources within yourself that you didn't realize you were capable of.
have you always been this way? do you get easily distracted? you have in mind to complete a task and once the challenge is gone, you lose interest? Perhaps, you just need to be more focused, when you are a multi-tasker, as just about all of us are, its tough to stay focused on one thing as you are working on several things at once that all require your attention. Maybe you just need to start with little things, pick a goal and take the steps you need to take in order to complete your goal/task.
Does your healthcare offer alternative care coverage or at least, some type of discount? Many plans these days offer some type of supplemental coverage for alternative treatment such as accupuncture (sp?), chiropractic care, psychiatric and mental well being. Its something to look into, if you haven't already

take care,
Renee

Before I started working in my current job, the employees went to a seminar about personality types. They learned that there are people who are 'starters' and people who are 'finishers' and others, and it is important to match the personality to the job position.
The goal was to increase understanding and communication between co-workers and to show that everybody is different but necessary to make the office work smoothly.
I can't help but think this is true on a larger scale (such as life). We are all made differently and there is a reason for it. Unless you cannot function in society, I would think twice before handing my bank account AND my sub-conscious over to someone. Who knows what this person could plant in your brain?
Perhaps, research into personality types and thier unique challenges in today's society with ways to avoid, mitigate, or conquer those challenges might be in order. Maybe you should just work on finding your niche in life to match your personality.
Unless you've already done all this? Maybe hypnosis is the only other option.
Good luck,
Marlys
