I like Scottish beers better than Guinness.... they seem to have more depth and less sourness.

I also like Honey Brown Ale...

I have never tryed a scottish beer - that I know of anyway!

No reason to be ashamed Emma! See if you can find McEwans Ale... it's bottled in the states. Or just go any grocery store where there is a selection of beers and look at labels for Scotch Ale. No telling if you'll get a good one or bad one, really, but i think you'll get a general idea how it is different and you might find one you really like. I don't know how you'd get the fresh taste though.

Recently i bought some St. James Gate Brewery Guinness Draft for St Patricks Day dinner, and a friend told me they pioneered a widget that breaks open when you take the lid off the bottle, dropping some chemical into it which makes it taste more like real draft... i had to admit it was better than other Guinness i've had.
