No disrespect intended but when Moore took over the mantle of Bond the franchise died.
For me the essential Bond is Connery but the best Bond film is 'On her Majestys Secret Service'. That was Lazenby's first and only Bond. I think he did a decent enough job too.
Bond in my mind belongs to the sixties. Lazenby's film captures the essence of that feeling, style.
Connery therefore is the best. His best film, a toss up between Goldfinger and You only live Twice.
I cant count 'Diamonds are Forever' It was a warning of what was to come with Moore.
I am disapointed therefore that the producers turned down Tarratino's offer to direct the next Bond. He had some demands. Firstly, that Brosnan played Bond. Secondly, that it would be 'Cassino Royale and finally (I wish they agreed) that it would be set in the 1960's.
A great shame. I can just imagine the soundtrack to it. Maybe he would have gotten Barry to write it.
