Ok, ok, so I have this preoccupation with accents :-)

hi sebia in reply to your question ...i have been in florida for 12 years and still have a glasgow accents which i doubt i will lose as i call scotland 3 times a week and speak to my mum and sisters ...who live in stirling shire and still have strong glasgow accents ...also here in flroida i have 2 scottish friends and my hairdresser is from glasgow ....which is great because when i go to get my haircut ...people in the salon are staring because they have no clue what the hell we are talking about....as we barter in glasgow slang ...i love it they look bewildered and amazed ....but believe me the mass population of florida are easily bewildered ....florida is one of the states that had to get its FCATS lowered 4 times in order for the kids to pass the exam....anyways that is another story ..as i was saying my hairdresser is from glasgow and my best friend is from glasgow so the banter is always funny ....and we do parly in glaswegian ....the only problem is that sometimes when i teach i have to sand off the glasgow accents as most people cannot understand it so that is interesting .....also have to speak a lot slower......

hi julie ...well i a afraid i have to agree with you about the whole redneck deal ....yes you ae absolutely 100% true .....although the only reason i live here is the weather and the money ...both are easy to come by and that what makes this place bearable ....everything else in florida ...is similar to the contents of an overfilled toilet bowl .......but you just do not get encompassed in the selfish veneer ,spiritualess narcassistic,low self esteem ,trailer trash ,jerry springer ,mentality ,...then you are fine ....florida is like beautiful weather ...and the economy is abundant with cash....it is almost recession proof here ...it is running ten years behindf with its mentality ....but then thta is always an advantage to a glawegian ....thank god ....i heard california was good ... i will get over there one day.....by the way thanx for the reply
