Question

Ok. So our city has a yearly 'Scottish Gathering'. This year it is on October 4th.

I went about 5 years ago, and it was great to watch the games, they had some bands going for music, vendors there...all that kind of stuff.
My dilemma. I'd like to get to know some people (i.e. men), or have some female friends (who might know some scottish men). I just don't know if I have it in me to walk up to someone and say something "So, Your Scottish huh?". I'm sure all the ladies are going to be there drooling, why would I want to add to the bunch?

If anyone has some suggestions, bring'em on!

Maybe I should just hand out business cards w/my e-mail address.

Oh no, Jenn, I would not laugh at you!

What about volunteering to be hostess help at the games, the information booth, or take tickets? Usually those are volunteer positions and they always need more volunteers. At our games our volunteers would work a couple hours and get free admission. Try asking at their website.

Exclamation BONUS!

Ahh Bonus! Thank you HollyElise. That never even occured to me! I would actually enjoy voluntering even though I'll probably die of heat exhaustion!I'm in Florida and the humidity here is a killer.Ick! But it would well be worth it to have the experience. I can't believe I never even thought of that. Now I'll have to find the website to get some info. Researching I go!

But thank you sooo much for the idea!

WoooHoo!!!

Jenn

You are very welcome.

Having gone to plenty fairs myself i swear never again will i wear a sleeveless shirt! You'd think you'd be cooler but it's definitely not worth it... you'll want your shoulders covered (short sleeves works fine)... even strong sunscreen is not enough on a hot day if you're out in it a lot. Take a hat even if you don't usually wear one! I had to buy one at the last fair. And of course you know this... drink plenty of water!
