Wink

Okay, as a 'social scientist,' I'm curious......Has anyone--or anyone you know (wink, wink)--ever made up a false internet ID, pretending to be someone else, then got romantically involved with an on-line pal, then had to bail when the water got too deep?

No I have not but you can tell your friend..........I am sure that is whom you are inquiring about , that he/she should know that is not as big a deal as you.....I mean he/she may think. First of all it is easier when you have never met the person you are writing with so don't fret about this problem. I, as a Graphological Scientist, have analized many people in my career and I assure you this behavior is not uncommon. Every person in the world makes mistakes and this is easily fixable. But this sounds like a good story.....care to share with the group? I like smut.........I mean a good read.

No, I haven't encountered anyone of that character..and I hope I never do..those people who play with other peoples emotions and feelings should be taken out back and shot.

Simone....Simone....Simone.

You must be my husband's twin with a comment like that. Although I am a great shot I would not agree with you on this. YES.....you should not play with people's emotions but do you think over the internet people can really get that involved? I think if I were to get involved this way it could never hurt me. I don't see this situation as I do a person to person relationship. Maybe I put up barriers so I can never get hurt but I still can not see someone getting hurt even if I stretch my imagination to it's fullest. No, I an not cold hearted either.......in case that is what you are thinking.

Talking I think there are....

a lot of people on the net who do not have the confidence to go out and meet people in the good old fashioned way. Hence, you tend to find that a lot of the people on the net are a bit stereotypical, or in my terminology 'sad'. Oh aye and before we get any wisecarcks, I am on here to have a good laugh at all the sados.

Hecko schmecko I am still waiting to hear Texisred's little story.

I am here for fun. Hey Marti.....have you ever heard of the Lonley Guys Club? I am sure there is one 'round your home. Sure you do this just for laughs! I am so hooked on this and it gets worse every day. I will have to check into a rehab place soon for another addiction.....one more... in the life of Susan.

I do agree with you susandel, it would be very hard to become that involved over the internet. And some people may become too attached to their "internet friend" and become hurt by their deception.
