Hi Jennifer,

Wow that sounds like nasty stuff with your stepfathers back.. it all sounds incredibly painful!! I'm sorry to hear too that you don't get along but it's good you're able to help your mom out. I'm sure she is very greatful for your help!!

My sister started studying to become a teacher, but yeah she found when she got to the student-teacher bit of the course, she couldn't handle the kids! LOL! I think you're wise going for the younger students. At least you can teach them before they turn into monsters! I feel a bit sorry for high school teachers these days, as even when I went through high-school (13 years ago.. AAARGH!!), students then were starting to give the teachers hell. Now I would imagine it would be even worse and the trouble is, the teachers get sued if they do anything to the students. Anyway I would imagine the younger ones would be a little more controllable.. for one thing they are small so at least you have a physical advantage!

I must admit, being on this Scotland.com board is about the most socialising I have done "online". I don't participate in any chat groups and although I belong to a few mailing lists, they are all pretty much work related. The funny thing is, the original reason I came here was to make contact with a few Scots as my wife and I are planning to move to Scotland late next year. Since then, I have ended up talking to more folk in the U.S. and Europe than anywhere else. Still it's all good fun, so no complaints from me!

Are you hoping to travel to Scotland one day??

Well I have a big job on this afternoon, so I had better get back to it. Enjoy your day!

People are great here aren't they! Of all the discussion boards (which I admit isn't all that many) I have been involved in, this one would be the quickest I have made friends on! Everybody makes you feel really welcome and part of the group, which is really nice. However I think that also reflects the friendly Scottish culture! (Even though I know a lot of people aren't necessarily in or from Scotland).

Heheheh.. I never knew Scottish men were renouned for being handsome. I was born in Glasgow.. I wonder if I count? Hopefully my wife thinks so! LOL!

So do you have anything exciting planned for your weekend? We are going to go for a little train journey tomorrow if the weather is nice, up to a small country town about 50Km north of Adelaide. Just for something different!!

Chat soon.
Graham

Hey Cameron,
Just thought I would give a holler at you. You are right, there are more Americans on this site than Scots or at least it may seem that way.I found this site by accident but have enjoyed talking with people and learning about Scottish culture and History. Even though this is a Scottish site we have people from all different countries talking and sharing with each other about different things.Well I did my hollering. You have a great day.

Hey there Jennifer, I'm good thanks, a little tired but good! We have done heaps of walking today and it's all starting to catch up with me! Fortunately the weather held off for us today so we were able to take our train trip up to the "country" and spend the day in the nice fresh air (where we did all that walking). Tonight we're going out for tea, to a very nice Seafood restaurant. I don't normally go for Seafood places but this place is really nice and does very tasty prawns!! Yum!! It's quite cool because it's up on the top floor of this quite tall, circular block of apartments. The floor of the restaurant slowly turns around so while your sitting there you get an entire 360 degree view of the city. (We call them revolving restaurants.. I'm sure you would have them in the U.S. too)

Good luck with your job hunting!! Have you had any luck?? And have a dance for me at the nightclub... boy it's been years since I have been in a club.. I'm starting to feel my age now! LOL! Take care, speak soon.

Graham

Hi there Chuck! Nice to chat to you again. Yes it's nice having such a diversity of people and countries represented here. It makes conversation very interesting!! I found HollyElise's thread in Scotland Dot C*m*on Inn, asking where people were from, most interesting. We have people from all continents represented here I think, which is pretty amazing! I was surprised to find a few fellow Australian's on here too! Anyway, thanks for the holler, enjoy your weekend too!

Cheers,
Graham
