First I want to thank you for your interest. If I would tell you the whole story, you would probably think I´m a nutcase. I know that this is a common name in Scotland, but I thought that there can´t be many people who´s picture is in exactly that book. I thought it is worth a try. Hope dies last.

Unfortunately Ikaria the title of the book is also a common one... so without knowing a bit more about that (when and by who it was published and where the photo was taken) you really have set an almost impossible task. Even with the book details finding the Ian MacGregor you are looking for would still be difficult. We would also need to know why you are looking for him as trying to find a random person you have no connection with is something that nobody on here would help anyone with... so more details are needed, even if they make us think you're a nutcase!

The title of the book is `The Highlands and Islands of Scotland´. It was published by Weidenfeld and Nicolson in1991. The picture I was talking about is on page 147. It was taken at Loch Lochy.
