i too wonder what happened to CC. Colin and i were in the same class and dorm right thru Cambusdoon. While my parents were overseas he sometimes took me to his home for exeat sundays. he was an excellent fly-half in our undefeated rugby XV and a good cricketer too. He went on to Fettes while I went to Merchiston, expecting to meet him in rival teams, but Colin never grew much and faded in sports. Peaked too soon!
Incidentally, Ian Rankin has a character called Colin Carswell, a less than honest cop, in his Inspector Rebus series. I wonder if he knew or still knows Colin. Perhaps you could enquire through his publisher - Orion Books - and let me know if what you find. I live in NZ now - bit far for phone calls.
