I only recently found out I was not Irish. My grand father
Peter Flanagan is from a city called Mother Worth. Any one know of this place? Where I can find it? It's a long way from MANHATTAN.

Never heard of it - but do you think it might be Motherwell?

Polwarth could be right - Motherwell is a place in Scotland, not far from Glasgow, (but a long way from Manhattan! )

Motherworth seems to be better known as a herb than as a place, (Leonurus Cardiac, should anyone be interested.)

Best of luck with tracing the right place, Kevin11421.

Kevin are you still around??? My maternal great grandfather's name was Peter Flannagan and although he was Irish he lived in Motherwell for many years working at the Ravenscraig steel factory. They probably aren't the same but you never know!!! I hope you come back here one day armed with much more info.
