Hi Elizabeth,
I had given up hearing from anyone at all so was happy to read your reply. When did you attend Calder Street? Do you still live in that area - I have been living in Canada for a good number of years but would love to get in touch with some people. I have been looking for Wilma McCreadie but had no luck. Great to hear from you. Dunnoter |

Hello Elizabeth,
It certainly is a small world - I was happy to hear from you again. I don't know (or can't remember) anyone by the name of Symon. Where are you living in Australia? Actually that was where I was heading when I came over to Canada with a girlfriend - I never really wanted to stay here but I met my husband and here I am. I have family on my Father's side living in Brisbane (they moved there I think in the very late 50's). Would love to hear more of your life in Aussie Land. Do you ever go back to Scotland at all - went back two years ago and really did not want to come back here - my heart is in Scotland. I've lived longer here than I did back home but I still would love to go back. Would love to hear from you again. Cheerio for now. Mary |

Hi Mary
I have lived in Canberra Australia since 1965 and I have been back to Scotland three times. I love going back to see my Family but I love Australia, and always glad to be back home here. ( Australia is a well kept secret) according to my Sister's. I have two sister in Germany and like you they stay there with their husband's, and visit here when they can. Like you Mary I have been in Oz longer than in Scotland now, and I am now retired from the Public Service. You were saying that you have relatives in Brisbane, they are inn a lovely place although too hetic for me, I have been on holiday there many times at the Gold Coast, its a hard place to leave with the coast line, and the weather is great there (especially in our winter). Canberra is different it is very cold in winter and very hot in Summer, but spring and autum is just great. I have a cusin in Canada and in America and I am hoping to visit there next year all going well. Mary and I am happy to write to you, may be you can tell me a bit about Canada (cold winters etc). My Sister has a message on this program (mccathy - anyone from Nitshill) where we lived in Scotland, you may like to have a look. I hope you have a happy day - Elizabeth |
