Cool

Hello, I am new here. I am going to be traveling to Scotland soon to experience sights that my ancesters once did, and I was looking for someone to penpal with that could tell me all the places to go, things to do, the "do's" and "dont's", and stuff like that. That or if anyone knows anything about the Bruce Clan... this would be helpfull!!! Thankyou!!!

Hi Debrasue,
This isn't always the best forum to get much response on. Try another forum, especially come*on*inn forum.

Talking Thanks!

Hey Stephen and Robin, thanks for replying...I have noticed that this forum doesn't really get a whole lot of action! But I am glad that you dropped a line to let me know! =0) I thought that soon my post would fall off the thread track and be lost forever without a response! =) Thanks again =)

Debrasue, G'day from Edinburgh.

Are you visiting Scotland this summer? Go to Edinburgh, in August, during the festival. It's superb. Also get yourself North to the Highlands. Plenty to do and see. Any good bookstore should have a copy of The Rough Guide and The Lonely Planet guide to Scotland. Read them to get some idea of our culture, such as it is, and where to go and what to do. try one of the backpacking company tours. Various length of tours round Scotland.

Let me know if you need more info and I'll get it to you. I'm off to India on Sunday for a couple of weeks rest and relaxation in Kerala so if I don't get back to you pronto that will be why.

Hope you enjoy your visit to our country. Have a good one - George.

Great!

Hey thanks Georges...what exactly is the "festival"? What types of things are there? As for the book, I found a copy of The Lonely Planet Guide, thanks so much for the advice! Have fun on vacation!
