Hello out there,
I happen to believe that there are more kindred spirits for a man like myself in Europe than in these United States. I have spent much time in Europe and find that unfortunately I have more of a British mindset than an American one. Please help me, I am drowning in the land of Freedom and Ignorance

sorry, but if you're american, you're american, we are a country of ignorance. in fact, when i see "america" i see a fat old whore trying to tend to children that aren't it's own. i know that's harsh to say of one's own country. but i'd like to get away too. but just remember, you are what you are. and we are both americans. i would like to know someday that if my country can be proud of anything, it can be proud of me. i love the land, i love our history very much, but today as americans, frankly, we suck! so try to make it better, don't just run out on us!? im' only seventeen, i will make a difference.

Hi Finnegan...

You and I appear to be in the same boat. I feel the same way. I was definately born in the wrong country. (This American lass if there is such a thing, was simply made to be in Scotland.) All I can say about the "Land of Freedom and Ignorance" part is:

Here, here! WELLLL SAID! Me too!.....lol

And Blueface....

Just so you know, I have been 'on the other side', and the grass is greener there! LOL It always is... But somehow it still isn't better, just different, and it still isn't home.

life is what you make it

hope you all find what you are looking for, but more important than that, I hope you are happy with it when you find it...

Robin

Cool

Hello,

My name is Zoltan Tutinka and I`m from Hungary.

I think the greatest thing is freedom. You guys just can move to anywhere (almost) in the World. So, if you don`t like to live in the US. just move away.
I have never been to the US, but I have been to Canada for 9 months. I think Europe is better to live, but I really esteem what blueface01 said.
I know that much easier to find a better place to live, but maybe better to do something against what we don`t like.
When I was in Canada at first time I was 18. I had the chance to stay there and I`ve been thinking about that because the communism was still strong that time (even Russian soldiers were in Hungary) and after I came home I had to be soldier for 1.5 years ... etc. But I came home, because this is my country and who else can make it better place if I (or we) don`t.
Now Hungary is a much better place than it was 12 years ago and it will much better in the next ten years I`m sure.
So, don`t give up!
Help blueface01 to make US better!

Robin is right. Life is what you make it.

So if you are tired to fight for come to Europe, come to Hungary or let`s have a meeting in Scotland next summer!

or just write me: tutinka@freemail.hu

bye, Zoltan

hello...

Dear Finnegan,
I understand how you feel completely! I am American, but I feel like I belong in Scotland. It felt like home to me when I was there. I feel "at home" there, but I am stuck here for now. I was in Scotland for the Hogmanay celebration last winter. That was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life! We travelled around the country in a van with a flat in Edinburgh for eating and sleeping. The Highlands are my favorite part! I am definitely going back sometime within the next few years. Anyway, just thought I would empathize a little with you
Sincerely yours,
Fionn Lassie
